The pool tent oval

Do you have a pool in your garden and are you looking for a cover that keeps the dirt out of the pool? Do you also want to swim in warm water? With the SunnyTent oval pool dome over your pool, you cover it and the water stays clean and warm. The oval SunnyTent is suitable for elongated and rectangular pools. If you have a different shaped pool, the round SunnyTent may be more suitable. The SunnyTent oval is available in sizes M (6.50m x 4.40m x 2.20m) and L (7.50m x 5.40m x 2.70m).

The advantages of an oval pool tent

In addition to the fact that the oval pool dome keeps the water in your pool clean and warm, there are other advantages. The first advantage is that you do not have to pay any energy costs for heating the pool. There are various options for heating your pool. One of the options is solar collectors that work on solar energy, the disadvantage is that the heat is not retained because the pool is not covered. The SunnyTent pool dome covers your pool and retains the heat. Because it also keeps the water clean, you save litres of water! In addition to the SunnyTent, you should use chlorine and check the pH value of the water frequently. That way, you also combat invisible dirt.

The SunnyTent can be used for both above-ground pools and inground pools. Do you have an inground pool in your garden? The oval-shaped SunnyTent is ideal if you want clean and warm swimming water. There are a number of points to bear in mind. Firstly, an inground pool often loses heat at the sides and bottom of the pool. Especially if there is little insulation between the earth and the pool. If this is the case, it is difficult to get and keep the water warm. Secondly, make sure that the oval pool dome is installed on a flat surface. Usually, this ground is paved, see how to install the SunnyTent on a hard surface. Third, it is important to have about 40 cm of space at the front and back of the pool to where the SunnyTent is standing. This ensures that the tent fabric is not damaged and does not hang in the water when opened.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a SunnyTent?

A SunnyTent pool dome is a type of cover designed to enclose and protect an outdoor swimming pool. It is essentially a transparent dome-shaped structure that can be placed over a swimming pool to provide a range of benefits. Here are some of the benefits of using a SunnyTent:

  • Extended Swimming Season: The primary benefit of a pool dome is that it extends the swimming season. By creating a controlled environment, it helps to keep the pool water warmer, allowing you to use your pool earlier in the spring and later in the fall.
  • Increased Water Temperature: The dome's transparent foil allows sunlight to enter and trap heat, raising the water temperature inside the pool. This can reduce the need for heating systems, saving on energy costs.
  • Reduced Maintenance: A pool dome helps keep leaves, debris, and insects out of the pool, reducing the amount of time and effort required for cleaning and maintenance.
  • Energy Efficiency: By using the SunnyTent, the pool water is heated naturally. No more need for gas heaters and no more heating costs.
  • Aesthetics: Pool domes can enhance the appearance of your pool area, making it a more attractive and inviting space.
  • Weather Protection: A pool dome provides shelter from wind and rain, allowing you to use the pool in less-than-ideal conditions.

Can the SunnyTent be installed on a hard surface?

Yes, the SunnyTent can indeed be placed on a paved or hard surface. However, it's important to ensure that the SunnyTent is securely anchored to the ground using a hard surface installation kit. To determine if you require this kit and for detailed guidance on installation on a hard surface, please refer to the provided manual.

Does the SunnyTent really work that well, and how is it possible?

Heating Your Swimming Pool with the SunnyTent:

Yes, the SunnyTent is highly effective at heating your swimming pool. From mid-May to the end of August, it is common for the temperature inside the tent to rarely drop below 77 degrees Fahrenheit. Consequently, the water temperature typically reaches 77 degrees or higher during this period, all without the use of additional heating equipment. Please note that the actual temperature achieved depends on the climate and environment in your specific location.

How the SunnyTent Works:

The SunnyTent operates on the same principles as a greenhouse. In horticultural greenhouses, the interior temperature is typically much higher than the exterior temperature, especially during the mentioned period. Several factors influence how quickly the water heats up in the SunnyTent, including:

  • Sunlight: The more sunshine, the warmer it becomes inside the SunnyTent, leading to faster water heating.
  • Water Volume: The quantity of water and its initial temperature also play a role in the heating process.

To better understand the average temperature achieved in the SunnyTent, you can review the measurements taken by our customers, providing real-world insights into its effectiveness.

How do I set up the SunnyTent?

Setting up the pool dome varies slightly depending on the size of your SunnyTent. Larger sizes, such as the XL, have additional poles and specific instructions for double-pole placement. For detailed instructions tailored to your specific pool dome size, please refer to our instruction videos and manuals. In general, the following steps apply to all pool dome sizes:

  1. Place Locking Pegs: Arrange two locking pegs in a straight line, ensuring they are spaced at the correct distance from each other. This distance may vary based on your specific tent size.
  2. Replace Locking Pegs with Hinged Anchors: Replace the two locking pegs with hinged anchors, driving them straight into the ground until the pins make contact with the ground.
  3. Unfold the Tent Foil: Lay out the tent foil on the ground. Insert the poles into the connectors, ensuring they fit into the corresponding tunnels for each section of the foil.
  4. Position the SunnyTent: Place the SunnyTent between the two hinged anchors. Set the pole sets on the pins of the hinged anchor, making sure they are fully placed over the pins.
  5. Raise the SunnyTent: Lift the SunnyTent upward until it forms a complete circle. To evenly distribute the tent foil between the poles, gently shake the tent both horizontally and vertically.
  6. Secure with Twisting Pegs: Use twisting pegs to firmly secure the tent in place. Be cautious to avoid damaging the foil during this step.
  7. Attach the Guy Line: Attach the guy line and open the SunnyTent.
