There are no bigger or smaller SunnyTents in our range. At the moment, many of our customers are happy with the available sizes. There is little demand for other sizes. For larger tents, we must also carefully examine the stability which affects quality. Of course, we continue to look into all possibilities to further develop and optimize our SunnyTents.

Unfortunately we cannot provide customization. This is not possible due to the higher cost of customized products. We are sure that the current choice of dimensions will meet your needs.

We have a pool sizes chart where you can see which SunnyTent fits your pool size. Click here for the size charts.

Yes, the SunnyTent can also be placed on a hard surface. However, it is important that the tent is fixed “on” the ground. To this end, we have a special ‘hard surface installation set’. This set consists of two angle brackets (on which the hinge blocks must be installed) and six special twist pegs with accessories. Click here for more info on buying this set.

All SunnyTents have the same kind of canvas. There are no different types available.

That’s possible, but it depends on the size of your pool and on the space around your pool. You will, for example, need sufficient space at the long side of your (rectangular / oval) pool. If you email us some pictures with the sizes of your pool, we will give you fitting advice.

A pool of 488 cm x 122 cm (outside measurements and without the pool rim) fits under the SunnyTent size L. However, this is tight, so if you fold or unfold the tent, the canvas may ripple up a little at the back of the pool. This can easily and quickly be adjusted by hand. This does not mean that the SunnyTent size L cannot be used for this type of pool, but you will occasionally need to reposition the canvas to straighten it. Many customers have happily done this in the past. Also it is possible that the tent canvas may wear on the places where the tent touches the pool frame.

With the pool rim, we mean a kind of board which is fixed around the pool. If the section of this board extends more than 488 cm (with the height of 122 cm), the L version tent will no longer fit and you should choose the XL version. You can choose to place an XL SunnyTent on this pool, but then you must realize that the tent is quite large (diameter approximately 638 cm and top height approximately 319 cm).

Yes, it will. Take into consideration the size of the tent and its location in the garden, especially if you have a small garden or you want to place the SunnyTent near the house.

Most likely, this is because the tent is not fastened securely, with the twist pegs, to the ground. It may be leaning a little to the left or to the right. You need to loosen the tent from the pegs, and realign it to the middle, so that it is no longer leaning. And then re-secure it with the twist pegs.

A SunnyTent Round size L best fits this pool. The ground diameter of this tent is 5.4m. This measurement is important, especially if your pool is near a hedge or a fence. You will need space around your tent to open and close it easily. If your pool is in a more open space, then this shouldn’t be an issue for you.

Operation / Warming-up / Chlorine / Pool Pump

Yes, the SunnyTent really works that well. In the period from mid-May to late August, the temperature in the tent will rarely fall below 25 degrees. As a result, the water temperature is usually 25 degrees or higher. And without any additional heating. The brighter the sun, the more quickly the water warms up and to a higher temperature. The rate of warming up also depends on the initial temperature of the water and the amount of water. A small pool is warmed up quicker than a large pool. In fact, the SunnyTent works like a greenhouse, and like a greenhouse, the inner temperature is usually much higher than the outside temperature. Click here for the average temperatures as measured by several of our customers.

If the water does not warm up properly, this can have several causes;

  • If it is an in-ground pool, the pool often loses heat to the sides and the bottom of the swimming pool. Especially when there is not enough good insulation between the pool and the ground. In fact, you get the ‘basement’ effect; in the summer, a basement in a house is always cooler than the ambient temperature (often around 18 degrees Celsius).
  • If the SunnyTent is not closed properly, the water does not warm up very well and cools down too much.
  • If most of the day (and especially between about 11.00 and 16.00 hrs), the pool is in the shade, the air in the SunnyTent is not as hot as when the tent is in the sun for a longer period. Naturally then, the water warms up less well and slower.

A tip to warm up the water faster and better;
Turn on the pool pump during the day, especially when the sun shines. Then the upper layer of water warmed up by the SunnyTent will mix well with the colder lower layers. This way, the water takes on the air temperature inside the SunnyTent (which is higher). Furthermore, turn off the pump in the evening and at night. Still water retains its heat better than moving water.

Even with a SunnyTent, water quality must be maintained by ensuring the proper pH and chlorine levels and by pumping the water regularly. These procedures are the same for all pools. For this purpose, products such as pH+, pH and chlorine powder and tablets are available from pool dealers, who can also advise on this matter. SunnyTent has the advantage of consuming less chlorine etc. because less water with chlorine evaporates when a SunnyTent is closed, and because you simply have to replace the water less often.

With a SunnyTent less dirt from outside gets into the water. Think of leaves, blossom, pollen, bird droppings, dust, etc. As a result, the water remains considerably cleaner. Of course it only remains clean when you avoid stepping into the pool with dirty feet. A good pump-filter system is recommended to keep the pool water clean, this will also to filter the smaller, not immediately visible dirt from the water. Your pool dealer can inform you about this.

We do not recommend placing the pump in the SunnyTent. This is because the temperature in the (closed) SunnyTent can be very high which may not be good for the pump. However, it is no problem to lay the pipes under the closed tent (because the tent poles are slightly flexible). There is one consideration: if the side where the pipes pass under the tent usually capture the wind fully, it is wise to sink the hoses into the ground so that the tent can still be placed perfectly tight to the ground.

Weather / Materials / Lifetime / Warranty

The tent canvas is made of triple layer PE foil, (fused together). As it is commonly used in professional horticulture, it is therefore a thick foil. It is extremely sturdy and sun resistant. Hail is also not a problem, (unless it is very extreme, as you would see on the news, causing extensive widespread damage, where whole campsites are whipped away). The SunnyTent can withstand normal hail storms. It is also wind resistant, to a point. If it is windy, you do not have to pack it all away and set it up from scratch all over again. It only takes a minute (literally!) to prepare the round SunnyTent for windier conditions, a little longer for the Oval. And you can very quickly re-erect the tent without any problem when the wind has passed. So, at what wind speed do you need to take action? This depends on the model of SunnyTent you own and the degree of protection it has from the elements. If your tent sits in a very sheltered location, it can withstand higher winds than a tent standing in an open field with no pretection. You can find on our YouTube channel a video of a SunnyTent standing tall in a strong wind. In general, it can be said that if your tent has some degree of protection from the wind and stands in a sheltered spot, you will rarely need to fold it down. From 2019, the SunnyTent Round XL will be delivered with a Cross Pole Set. However, due to its size, this tent remains wind-sensitive. The SunnyTent Round XL is therefore not suitable for use in windy or open locations. We also do not recommend this tent for use in the winter.

The materials used to manufacture the SunnyTent are winter resistant. However, please note that if snow or sleet falls, you will need to temporarily fold down the tent completely. If you do not, snow can settle on the tent and may cause it to buckle under the extra weight. With your SunnyTent standing through the winter months, you will have a shield over your pool, protecting it from leaves and other debris flying on the wind. You water will remain clean.

Tip: Should you wish to place the SunnyTent Round M or L in an open location or a place without much protection from the wind, then the purchase of a Cross Pole Set (CPS) should be considered. The CPS offers your Round SunnyTent extra strength and protection not only from wind, but also from light snow or ice.

Note: Even with a Cross Pole Set, your SunnyTent can not withstand all wind strengths, and medium or large falls of snow or sleet. But, with a Cross Pole Set, you will have more protection than a tent without one. Follow the instructions exactly as stated in the manual.

The lifetime of the SunnyTent depends heavily on the use and storage. If you set up the SunnyTent year round (so also in winter time) it will probably last 3-5 years. When the SunnyTent is stored away, clean and dry, during winter it will last 5-7 years.

The poles of the SunnyTent are made of very strong fiberglass and are 12.7 mm thick. That’s why the SunnyTent can withstand quite a beating. Fiberglass is light and flexible, therefore, the SunnyTent can move with the wind and the poles rarely or never break. On the very rare occasion, that a pole does break in extreme conditions, you can buy a replacement pole set from our shop.

The materials of the SunnyTent are winter resistant. However, it is worth noting that if snow or freezing rain settles on the SunnyTent, it may cause the tent to sag under the weight. But your pool water will remain clean, as the cover still protects against debris such as leaves, insects etc…

In addition, homemade / self-made adjustments and modifications to the SunnyTent void the warranty.
  5. Because the SunnyTent is outside for a long period of time, it is exposed to wind and weather. As a result, the metal parts can show rust after some time. However, this rust does not in any way interfere with the use of the SunnyTent and is therefore not covered by the guarantee.
  6. Read the manual and installation / assembly instructions, watch the instruction video carefully and follow all the instructions applicable to the assembly / installation and use of your SunnyTent. Always check the SunnyTent before and after use. If you fail to follow the guidelines, the warranty is void.

Although the SunnyTent materials are very sound, it may happen that a part of the SunnyTent breaks. In this case, you can buy these items in our shop.

The SunnyTent does not protect your skin from sun rays. Although there is a slight ‘slowdown’, it cannot protect your skin from burning due to sun rays.

Delivery / Order Status / Availability

All products in our shop are almost always in stock. If, in the rare occasion it is not in stock, it is clearly stated and the potential delivery time will be indicated.

Generally, we deliver within 2-4 business days. If you place your order before midday, we will ship it that same business day.

If the delivery time is expected to be longer, (for example if the product is out of stock) we will clearly indicate this in the product information section on the website.

The package must be signed for. So if no one is present at the delivery address, the parcel cannot be delivered. Very rarely, the courier service leaves the package behind the house, but this is an exception to the rule. It is possible for you to leave a note at the front door so that the package, for example, is delivered at your neighbour’s house.

We use DPD. Sometimes, however, they outsource the delivery to a third party. This is particularly the case outside the Netherlands.

Unfortunately, the delivery services do not offer this option. But if you give us your delivery preferences while ordering (at the “order notes”), we can try to plan the delivery schedule as well as possible.
What you can also do: stick a note to the front door with the request to deliver the package to your neighbour’s house.

Set up / Accessories / Manual

Two people can easily set up the round SunnyTent in about 1 hour. Setting up the oval SunnyTent takes about 2 hours (also with two people). So that’s pretty fast. See the section Manuals to find the correct instruction manual.

Two people must install the SunnyTent together, using a tape measure and solid hammer.

Whenever possible, it is best to install the SunnyTent before setting up your pool. It will make installation much easier.

Please note: If you are installing your Oval SunnyTent over an already established pool, you must be able to enter, and move above the pool.

Note: We recommend that you install your SunnyTent when there is little wind!

Note: If you intend to install your SunnyTent on a hard surface, you must use a Hard Surface Installation kit, available on our website.

The location of the twist pegs may be causing this to happen. If the lower poles of the tent are secured by the twist pegs a little too far out, a gust of wind or rough opening and closing of the tent can cause the poles to shoot off the pins. You can solve this by moving the twist pegs a little more towards the centre of the tent.

The anchors not being correctly positioned may also cause this to happen. The anchors should be properly located and positioned perpendicularly opposite each other. The experience of thousands of SunnyTent owners all over Europe is that when the tent is correctly installed, and opened and closed carefully and in accordance with the manual, the poles will never shoot off the pins.

You will find the instructions on how to install the cross-pole set (s) in combination with a hard surface kit in the cross pole set manual. However, a small problem may occur.

The problem
See the picture. The correctly installed cross-pole set is indicated by the green check mark. If you want to open the SunnyTent, you must turn the twist peg counter clockwise. With the twist pegs (for the soft surface) a half turn is sufficient to release the pole set from under the twist peg because off the coarse thread of the peg. However, you need more turns with the hard surface kit twist peg, because the threads are much finer. It is therefore possible that, while turning the hard-surface twist peg counter clockwise, you will come into contact with the cross-pole set (s) after about half a turn and be unable to rotate it further. This makes it difficult to open the SunnyTent.

How can I prevent / resolve this?
This can be prevented by making the distance between the green check mark (where the ground pipe is placed) and the spot where the twist peg enters the ground as wide as possible. By doing this you get the pole set just under the twist peg. This is correctly indicated on the photo above.
If the holes for the ground pipes and twist pegs are already drilled (and you don’t want to drill more holes in the hard surface), the problem can be solved in two ways:

  1. You can turn the twist pegs less deep into the ground, but just deep enough so that the pole set can be fixed and released with one half turn. This is so the pole set does not lodge under the twist peg so quickly, as the cross-pole set (s) hold everything in place.
  2. You can always loosen the cross-pole set (s) and hoses and then rotate the twist peg.

Of course, solution 1 is the most logical.
However, with strong wind and / or a long absence you must rotate the twist peg as deep as possible into the ground, so that the tent pole cannot dislodge (and allow a draught of wind to get under the tent). To that end, you will have to (once) loosen the crossbar set with hoses, in order to be able to turn the twist peg into the ground to the maximum (after which you reattach the crossbar set in / to the ground.

The SunnyTent may not be very stable if installed directly on a marshy / very soft surface. Here is a possible solution:

  1. Use pieces of pipe / tubing of approximately 70 cm. long (not shorter) with a diameter of approximately 50 cm. Place the tubes / pipes upright in the ground, in the spots where the hinge anchors, twist pegs (and possibly the ground tubes of the Cross-pole set, if you have one) should be placed in the ground.
  2. Fill these pipes to the brim with gravel and then with fine sand. Then, slowly pour some water into the pipe so that the sand fills all the crevices between the gravel. Note: Make sure that every pipe is completely and compactly filled.
  3. Then install the hinge anchors, twist pegs (and ground tubes of the cross-pole set) in these pipes.

By following these steps, the hinge anchors, twist pegs and any ground tubes are placed firmly in the ground, making the SunnyTent stable.

Take down / Store / Cleaning

Yes, you can leave the SunnyTent up throughout the year. However, you always need to keep an eye on the weather. For the related guidelines, we refer you to the user guidelines. Click here for the user guidelines.

If you wish to dismantle the SunnyTent, please follow the steps of the installation instructions in reverse order. Please refer to the installation instructions.

In short:

Step 1: Remove tent pegs from the tent.

Step 2: Lower the tent.

Step 3: Remove the tent poles from the anchors.

Step 4: Place the tent in such a way that the tent poles are straight and remove the poles from the tent by sliding them out of the tent tunnels. Attention: never pull on the poles (or parts thereof), as you might break the elastic cord inside the poles. Push the poles out rather than pulling them from the tunnels. How? With one hand you push the pole set forward (into the tent tunnel) while with the second hand you obstruct the blue / grey tent tunnel. Thereafter you clamp the tunnel with ‘hand 2’ while you pull back the empty blue / grey tent tunnel with ‘hand 1’. Repeat this action until the pole set is completely free from the tunnel. Click here for the video demonstration

Step 5: Clean the SunnyTent and allow it to dry fully before folding and storing the tent. Thoroughly clean and dry the poles, anchors and tent pegs.

CAUTION: Always ensure that your SunnyTent is stored in a frost-free and dry place where the temperature never rises above 30˚C. If you place the SunnyTent near a heating pipe or any heat source, there is a chance that the material of the pole tunnels may shrink.

If the SunnyTent remains outside over a long period of time (for example, from early spring to late autumn, or even in the winter), it will of course get dirty. Green deposits, dust and other airborne debris may stick to the outside of the tent. And of course you want to use your SunnyTent as transparent and clean as possible.

What to use
You can clean the outside of the tent with a sponge or soft brush and lukewarm (approx. 37 degrees Celsius) water. Do not use a hard brush, strong jet, scouring pads or other aids, as this may damage your tent foil. Also, do not use chemical cleaners, as these can damage the seams and stitching. With a very dirty tent you can add a little bit of natural soap to the water.

Method
First: only clean the outside of your tent foil. Do not clean the inside, as it does not get really dirty and you may end up removing the anti-condensation layer on the foil.

Cleaning the exterior is best as follows:

SunnyTent round:

  • Make sure that the tent is fully closed and secured with the twist pegs in the ground.
  • First clean the tent panels that you can easily access. In general, these are two tent panels at the front of the tent and two at the rear. We will call these layers 1, 2, 5 and 6.
  • Then only the two tent layers remain on top of the tent, which you cannot reach – numbers 3 and 4.
  • Loosen the tent on one side (by turning the twist pegs counterclockwise to release the tent poles). One person holds this open side in the middle, while the second person pulls down the tent on the other side, so that layer 3 comes within reach and can be cleaned. Two people are required to do this sucessfully; one on each side of the tent.
You can then clean layer 4 by doing the same on the other side of the tent.

Oval SunnyTent:

  • Make sure that the tent is fully closed and secured with the twist pegs in the ground.
  • First clean the round tent layers (ends) that you can easily reach. Also clean the middle section, as far as you can reach.
  • If you also want to clean the higher parts of the

Other questions

We continuously conduct product improvements throughout our range. Therefore it is possible that the products look different than on our site or in our videos.

All SunnyTents have the same canvas, but occasionally it can look less than 100% transparent. This has to do with the sunlight. When the sun is relatively high (for example, in the middle of the day in summer), the canvas looks much clearer than when the sun is lower (later in the day and later or earlier in the year).

You need 40 cm free space on the outside of the SunnyTent. This is to enable you to walk around the tent and, especially at the rear, because there the canvas folds when the tent is opened. (If at the rear you have more than 40 cm of space, this is even more comfortable).

Both for pools with and without the SunnyTent, you constantly have to keep the pH and chlorine levels in order. Also, the water should be well circulated (pumped around) and filtered. If you closely observe these standards, the water will not turn green, with or without the SunnyTent. For example: there are several customers who replace their pool water only once every two years (leaving the pool and tent all year round), but they keep a close eye on the issues mentioned before and take timely action when needed.

A few more points of attention:

1. With regards to the chlorine, “the more the better” does not apply. If the chlorine levels are too high, green staining may also occur. The chlorine level should be within the range shown on the test papers and equipment.

2. If the chlorine or pH levels have temporarily been wrong, green water can occur. Simply restoring the levels does not mean that the water will clear up again. Sometimes you must first use ‘anti-algae’ (dosage in accordance with the packaging).

3. The standard pumps supplied with the pools are often of poor quality and not really suitable. A good pump filter installation is of great value.

Sure, it is true that warm water requires more attention than cold water (maintaining correct chlorine and pH levels, and the circulation of the water). And yes, the SunnyTent will warm up the water; this is intention, and it does so very well!”

We do not have a showroom or show garden. This way we minimize our costs, making sure the SunnyTent is good value for money.

Als de scharnierblokken te los op de scharnierankers zitten (of op de hoekbeugels als je een harde-ondergrond-set hebt), dan krijgt de tent iets

If the hinge blocks sit too loosely on the anchors (or the corner brackets if you have a hard-surface kit), the tent can sway a little. Tighten it slightly using a spanner or wrench.

Note: Do not tighten it too much, as the hinge block needs to be able operate freely when opening and closing the tent.

The SunnyTent is known to be strong and robust, so it likely that the tent has not been assembled correctly. The fault almost always lies with the hinge blocks.
The hinges must be facing outwards and not towards the pool/trampoline etc..
It may seem like a small detail, but this is vital for the stability for you SunnyTent.

If the hinge anchors are correctly placed and you feel that the SunnyTent is still weak or insecure, please contact us.

The SunnyTent can take quite a beating. Under normal circumstances, the SunnyTent will withstand most football shots. It is, of course, in theory, possible that if your budding Messi uses the SunnyTent as a goal, damage may occur. In our experience, this has not happened and the chances are small.

This problem can arise if you close the tent after sunset. At this time in the evening, insects will be searching for shelter. So if you close your SunnyTent after sunset, you are locking them inside. Aim to close the tent before sunset. If the insects are already inside, open the tent to allow them to fly away, and then close it.

A cats claw can make a hole in the fabric of the tent., but the likelihood of a claw tent foil the fabric is small.

Puppies like to chew! So they could take a liking to your SunnyTent. However, we haven’t had any reports of this actually happening.

A securely closed SunnyTent will make it difficult for small children and animals to gain access to your pool. However, we cannot 100% guarantee this. Small children should always be supervised around water.
